Custom tailoring and alterations in Springfield, Illinois

The Custom House Alterations has closed, but JoAnne Edmonson, the former owner is still doing some alterations on a limited basis while semi-retired.  She is located inside of EJ Nail Salon (next door to the old shop).  

Walk-ins are available from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Please call ahead for other times to see if JoAnne will be in the shop.  







Specialty alterations and repairs:

• Zippers - coats, jeans, pants, jackets.  Some zippers in stock. Specialty zippers may be provided by customer.
• Hems - pants (cuffs or plain), dresses, formals, and jeans (original hem can be kept).
• Formals - limited availability for prom, homecoming and bridesmaid dresses.  We do not have the space to work on wedding dresses unless they are very simple.
• Curtain - customizing lengths and widths
